Right over the hill............

Today I walked home from the bus and suddenly really wanted an Icee. There is a AM PM about 2 blocks away from my house and today instead of my usual path into the driveway to go to my house, i walked to AM PM and purchased a Cherry Icee. It was super good and it inspired me to go home and do laundry. After I did my laundry i picked up a little and watched the City on Mtv.com (that show is stupid but addicting).

After waiting a week I finally got my add code for math. The professor gave the codes out at the end of class and i felt like i was given the golden ticket. Before since the professor didn't know if there was enough room she told us to go and try to add other math classes. Christy and I went on an adventure last week and all the math classes were full.


In other news.....
My job as a tutor is no longer. I was temporary and one of the parents from the pre-school found a Spanish speaking tutor which was what my job was supposed to be. I only worked as a tutor for about a month but, I felt like i got a lot of experience into what my job will be like when i am a teacher. I finally got the 2nd grade boys to listen and they even had respect for me. One of the little boys told me i was "a cool girl" and another one gave me a hug. The kids told me they would miss me and the director of the program said that i am more than welcome to come back and volenteer.

This is my first weekend of school. I had 3 sections of math, reading and have to post online about what culture I belong to. I don't know what culture I belong to. He doesn't want us to post a personal ad about ourselves. I guess I'll just wait and read what everyone else writes

             My geography professor loves Soccer and told us that this weekend he was going to be a judge at a beer competition in San Diego. Personally, I think that's too much information. That's just me though. My professor rambles a lot, but his class seems good.

              I am happy to report that i added another class. Its the History of Women. In the class we are going to learn and discuss the influence of women throughout history. We get to do a research paper kind of also. Its an interesting class, i'm excited to see what happens.

             I am trying to add a math class. I have a teacher that i want to add and now i just have to wait till people don't show up so she can add me. My friend christy is in the class and i have already met a couple of people. The professor is strict but i'm ready for her.

I'm excited to prove to the world my abilities. Ready or not, here i come!!

First day of school- A new adventure.

In a perfect world i would be reporting how wonderful my first day of school at smc was. Even though i am a positive person most of the time i am sad to report that my first day didn't go very well.  I was all excited to start my smc adventure but i had no idea what my day would be like.

It started when i woke up around 5:45 because i couldn't sleep anymore. I got up and checked my email and was disappointed that it was pouring out.  I had a big wonderful glass of Orange juice without pulp with some Cereal. Then I got my rain clothes on for the first day of school. In the car on the way to school my mom and i listened to Mark and Brian then she dropped me off and my fancy water bottle that is too big for my backpack dropped into a puddle of rain. I put the bottle back in my moms car because i was trying not to get wet. Then jay- walked across the street because the crossing guard took forever. I knew where my first class was so i walked up stairs and sat down in a random spot. The professor walked in soaked. He said he would be right back mumbled something and ran out. About 5 minutes later he came back with the syllabus. The professor seems nice enough. He really loves Geography and the world. We have a diverse class. Students from Japan, Spain, France, new york and texas. I'm excited to learn about the world that we live in.

Next I ran out to catch the bus with Christy to go to another campus. I got water on the way because i was thirsty and the bottle was left in the car.Christy was under the impression that her class was today. I'm trying to add that class so i went with her. Turns out she mixed up her days ( a easy mistake) We took the bus across town and went into the class we thought was ours. The professor was nice and told us that we were in the wrong class. We looked at every list to confirm that we mixed up our days. Christy then found out that she was missing her psych class because of the confusion. Then we went to the computer lab to print out christy's schedule. The lady who worked there was helpful. Then we went on the bus which took us to the other side of santa monica to go to the other campus so that the bus could pick up more people. We thought we got on the wrong bus, but we didn't. Its always an adventure when I'm with Christy.

Christy had a class so i went to get a muffin from the food court. Then i was still hungry so i got chinese food. Which was really cheap and really gross. Note to self: Don't eat Chinese food from the food court at smc. After i poked my food i went in the library to watch a video. They had that movie saved on video and i never saw it so i watched it. The recording was all weird so i got annoyed and went to my math class early. It turns out my advisor told me a class that isn't right for me so i could have just gone home. The professor was understanding though. I called my mom to tell her I was going home. I got to the bus stop and about 2 minutes later my bus came. Then i transfered buses and went to the library to find some good sleeping music. I also got some good books. I hope to read a lot during this semester.

I'm still trying to add classes and its a long process. But........

On the bright side:

I got my check today. I got a lot of money. I love my job. I hope they keep me forever.

        It seems like the way my schedule is working that i will be able to do my homework before my mom gets home. I'd either be doing it at school or at home and will have plenty of time to focus.

I know this blog is really long but i figure since school is starting i won't be able to blog as much so this will make up for the really short blogs.

Candles and Oldies music

Today I organized my room to the up beat sounds of Oldies music. I lit some candles and was relaxed. Later I called SMC and finally got an answer that i could register for classes.

It was a productive day.

Meghan has inspired me.

Today I decided that I was going to make a blog. My roommate Meghan kind of gave me the idea. I'm not sure what my direction is going to be. One thing i am going to do is put up one song that represents my life for the week, with a picture. Happy blog reading.
